Britney Spears Speaks Out About Her Conservatorship for the First Time

Britney Spears spoke out in court about her conservatorship for the first time since 2008 when she was first placed under one.

Britney Spears was in court this afternoon, and asked the judge straight up to let her out of her conservatorship. Up until now, everyone was under the impression that Britney wanted her conservatorship, just not her father to be her conservator. Turns out the Free Britney movement supporters have been right all along.

Britney referred to her conservatorship as abusive, and told the judge she wants out as soon as possible. She claimed in court that her father controls 100 percent of her life and that he loves that power. She called the conservatorship traumatizing and says she just wants to have her life back. Britney asked the judge to let her out of the conservatorship immediately and without an evaluation from a psychologist.

She addressed the court for twenty minutes pleading with the judge to set her free from her father. According to Britney, she wants to marry her boyfriend Sam and have a baby with him, but her conservators will not allow her to.

I have an IUD in my body right now that won’t let me have a baby and my conservators won’t let me go to the doctor to take it out.”

Her father’s lawyers claimed in a statement, that he is sorry to see his daughter suffering and that he misses her. Britney fired back claiming the conservatorship is causing her much more pain than good and she just wants a break. She says she has been working her whole life and deserves a break. Britney has not spoken up about the abuse she’s endured because she was afraid of her father, and afraid the public would not believe her.

After I’ve lied and told the whole world I’m OK and I’m happy…I’m not OK, ” she shared. “I’m not happy, I can’t sleep.”

What?

I almost feel bad being a Britney Spears fan now. The poor woman has been through hell providing us with entertainment, when she didn’t even want to. I’m happy she is finally speaking out about everything her father and her other conservators have put her through. I feel so incredibly sorry for her and agree that she deserves so much better than what she has been given. She has been taken advantage of since she was a child and it’s about time we all listen to what she wants for a change. I sincerely hope the courts can see she is capable and take her words seriously.

What is a conservatorship?

A conservatorship is when a court determines someone incapable of making big life choices, so they appoint someone to essentially run their life. Britney has been under one since her breakdown in 2008. She hasn’t been in control of her life for 13 years. Besides telling the judge she wants out, Britney went into detail on things she can’t do.

According to Britney, during corona she wasn’t allowed to practice self-care like massages, acupuncture and hair and nail services. She has to complete mandatory therapy two days a week. Her issue with that is the therapists office is in a very exposed part of Los Angeles. She feels exploited and taken advantage of and she has had enough.

Supporters of the Free Britney movement previously uncovered other details of her conservatorship. They revealed she can’t go to Starbucks on her own, is forced to take medication she doesn’t need, and is forced to perform when she doesn’t want to. These are just a few of the many other horrible conditions she’s under in her conservatorship.

Let’s Wrap it Up
