What do Adrienne Maloof, Jacqueline Laurita, Luann de Lesseps and Lisa Vanderpump have in common? They don’t seem to understand the obligations of their job.
Lisa Vanderpump has chosen not to attend the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” season 9 reunion. After a rocky start to season 9, stemming from drama surrounding a dog and Lisa potentially leaking a story to Radar Online, Vanderpump was less than excited to reunite with her cast mates. Ironically it was news outlet Radar Online who first reported that Vanderpump was thinking about skipping the reunion. The rumors of her absence have been floating since before the season even premiered, when news got out that Vanderpump had a falling out with every other housewife and was refusing to film with them. The cast filmed the reunion on Wednesday, May 6 where housewives creator and executive producer, Andy Cohen, confirmed her absence during an Instagram livestream during a break in filming.
Reunions are honestly my favorite part of the entire season on any Bravo show. A lot of the times while I’m watching the show, I get so frustrated at these women because I understand what their point in the argument is but they can’t articulate it. This could be because most of the time, they are in a drunken rage and can’t think but it infuriates me. The reunion is when they all come in somewhat sober and are sometimes able to get their points out more clearly and come to a reconciliation. It doesn’t always happen but we can’t forget the O.C. reunion which brought together mortal enemies Vicki, Shannon and Tamra, teaching us that anything is possible. It was pretty clear thought that Vanderpump was not going to go into the reunion with an open mind based on the quote she gave to Daily Mail TV about whether or not she would attend.

No Lisa the point of the reunion is not to reunite, it is to discuss the events of the season and say your piece, and is also a part of your job. Has she not learned from former Beverly Hills housewife Adrienne Maloof whose decision to not show up to the reunion got her fired. That didn’t really work out well for her.
I’m still hoping for a good reunion though since Camille has taken it upon herself to talk shit about every other housewife on the show and as of this past episode is not really liked by anyone. It is definitely not as explosively dramatic as the New York franchise but it never has been so I wouldn’t expect that from them.
Anyways, I don’t think Lisa’s absence from the reunion will really change it all that much. She probably wouldn’t say anything of much substance and wouldn’t own up to anything anyways, and she wasn’t in the rest of the season so her being there would not have been all that needed. I don’t think she will be back for season 10 so all you aspiring reality stars, start sending your audition tapes Andy’s way, your time has come.
