I can almost hear the trumpets in front of Buckingham Palace from here, confirming all the pregnancy rumors.
Meghan Markle, Dutchess of Sussex, has let it be known, she is expecting a royal baby, to be born Spring 2019. I’m happy for her and all, but I really wish she had announced it earlier. It would have saved me a month of reading headlines discussing her clothing choices, and whether or not she was hiding a pregnancy. Sometimes a girl just wants to wear comfortable loose clothing. Royalty or not, comfort should always be a priority. We’re not always trying to cover something up. I’m not ashamed to admit that in this case I was wrong, and the rest of the world that cares, was right.
The main reason I didn’t think she was pregnant is because they have only been married five months. They were in a huge rush to get this baby. That was so fast! If you look at their relationship as a whole though, it has all moved very quickly. Harry and Meghan began dating in July 2016 after being set up on blind dates by a mutual friend, making every girl in the world realize they need new friends. Where’s my blind date with a prince? How does that even work? It’s not really a blind date when you’re being told your date will be Prince Harry. Maybe it was blind on his part but she definitely went into that date knowing she wanted to make it work. Anyways, seems like that first date went really well, considering for their third date Harry took her on a trip to Africa. Meanwhile Ben Affleck was taking Shauna Sexton to Jack in the Box for their third date.
After the Africa trip, I think their fate as a couple was sealed. The couple got engaged in November of 2017, only after a year and a few months of dating, and were married in May of 2018. Fast forward five months, and a few unwanted Samantha Markle interviews, and a royal baby is on the way. Both have spoken in the past about wanting to become parents with Meghan saying she “can’t wait to start a family, but in due time,” in a 2016 interview. Well looks like her time has come and I’m just a few short months, she will be a mother. I just hope her family leaves her alone and stays out of the press. Who am I kidding, Samantha Markle loves putting her foot in her mouth too much to keep quiet. Let the media storm begin.
