Oscar Isaac In Talks To Star In Upcoming Disney + Series ‘Moon Knight’

Oscar Isaac in talks to star in “Moon Knight,” Disney Plus’s latest series based in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. “Moon Knight is one of many upcoming MCU shows premiering on Disney Plus.

Star Wars alum Oscar Isaac is expected to take on the role of superhero Moon Knight for the new Disney Plus series of the same name. This isn’t his first dive into the comic book superhero world. Isaacs previously starred in X-Men Apocalypse as an evil mutant. That movie didn’t do so good in regards to the critics, so hopefully this one works out better for him. I have high hopes for this one. Granted, I’m not that big on superhero movies, and hadn’t even heard of Moon Knight until this morning. Oscar Isaac is just so great, I don’t think this will be a let down.

Moon Knight tells the story of billionaire, Marc Spector, who not so surprisingly finds himself on the verge of death after a betrayal. Pretty typical for a Marvel superhero plotline if you ask me. Really any superhero movie if we’re being honest. It’s giving me some Batman vibes. In order to survive, he makes a deal with an Egyptian moon god. He will be his Earthly avatar in exchange for his life. This is the not so typical part. He gets his superhuman abilities, adapts multiple identities and becomes a badass crimefighter. Just based off this description, I’m wondering why this wasn’t made sooner. It definitely sounds more interesting than the other Marvel stuff I’ve watched.

Oscar Isaac

In the past, Oscar has appeared in a number of high profile films. Most notably of course being the rebooted Star Wars movies and X-Men Apocalypse, as previously mentioned. His other films include, Ex Machina, A Most Violent Year and The Promise, in which he played a survivor of the Armenian Genocide. In 2016 he won a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television for “Show Me a Hero.” He was previously nominated in 2014 for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical for “Inside Llewyn Davis.”
